About ICC Region VII Chapter

ICC Region VII is a proud regional chapter of the International Code Council (ICC), representing the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. As part of the ICC, we work to create safer, more resilient communities by advancing the field of code enforcement across our region. Our commitment lies in empowering code officials, plan reviewers, and inspectors with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their professions, fostering a culture of integrity, safety, and professionalism.

Our primary focus is to support and enhance education and certification opportunities for our members, ensuring they stay at the forefront of code enforcement. Through training sessions, workshops, and access to certification programs, we equip our members with the tools to maintain high standards of practice. This emphasis on education and certification is essential in helping our professionals adapt to evolving codes, address new construction trends, and effectively enforce regulations that protect public health and safety.

In collaboration with the ICC, Region VII works to streamline services and enhance resources for local and state chapters, helping to facilitate a more coordinated approach to code changes. By aligning with ICC’s mission to regionalize services, we provide an efficient and consistent support structure, making it easier for local chapters to access resources, address specific regional needs, and engage in the code change process.

Additionally, ICC Region VII serves as a vital network and forum for code enforcement professionals across the Mid-Atlantic. We promote an open exchange of ideas, industry updates, and best practices that benefit our communities. Our chapter offers a collaborative environment where members can discuss challenges, share insights, and connect with other professionals, fostering a strong sense of unity and collective purpose.

By advocating for ICC model codes and maintaining high ethical standards, we help protect our communities’ safety and well-being. Whether through the code development process, public outreach, or educational initiatives, ICC Region VII actively promotes the adoption and implementation of model codes that address public safety and sustainability, ensuring our communities have robust and effective building safety standards in place.

At ICC Region VII, we’re committed to building stronger, safer communities by supporting the professional growth and excellence of our members and advancing the field of code enforcement throughout our region.

Our mission is to promote the health, safety, and welfare of all people in building occupancy and construction, while maintaining high professional and ethical standards in building design and construction through code enforcement. We strive to build strong relationships within the construction industry, with design professionals, and other stakeholders.
